Pregnancy Testing

GMPC Medical provides lab-quality pregnancy testing free of charge, and results will be available at the time of testing. Pregnancy symptoms, such as a missed period, doesn’t always mean you are pregnant.

You should have a lab-quality pregnancy test by a medical professional, even if you have already done an at-home test. GMPC Medical uses lab quality urine-based pregnancy tests.

Ultrasound

Following a positive pregnancy test, it is important to have an ultrasound for pregnancy confirmation. At GMPC Medical, we offer limited obstetrical ultrasounds performed by specially trained nurses.

Ultrasounds Are Performed To: Confirm pregnancy, Detect fetal heartbeat, Determine fetal age and due date, Determine location of pregnancy (inside the uterus or ectopic)

Sexually Transmitted Infection
(STI) Testing

It is important to know if you have a Sexually Transmitted Infection when considering your pregnancy options. Treatment for an STI (formerly known as STD) should always begin as soon as possible, but if you are considering having an abortion, you MUST receive treatment prior to having the abortion.

Women who have an untreated STI are up to 25% more likely to develop Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) following an abortion procedure. GMPC Medical offers free Chlamydia & Gonorrhea testing for women & men.

If your test is positive, you will be referred for treatment from your doctor or through your local health department.
